Quick update on our #standwithukraine appeal. Our lovely customers have now donated over £1000. We are overwhelmed and truly grateful to them all. Much of what we have bought is already in Ukraine and the rest on its way. We will be adding the remaining and any further donations to the local #ukrainefrontline appeal. As some may know, we have been collecting to buy first aid kits to help the courageous people fighting to save Ukraine from illegal (and brutal) Russian occupation. The first 5 went last week, another 8 plus burns kit started out today and we now have enough to buy another 8. Our lovely customers have been so generous and want to do whatever they/we can. In less than a week they have donated over £450 - a real bright point amongst the gloom. #istandwithukraine #supportukraine #ukraine

The illegal war being waged by Putin in Ukraine is appalling and heartbreaking. Whilst the resilience and bravery of the Ukrainian people is something we can aspire to. There are lots of ways in which we can support them through charities and other agencies. We have decided to support a local appeal for items to help on the frontline. As a start we have donated 5 first aid kits and some burns dressings. We have a collection tin in the shop and I think our generous and concerned customers have donated enough in 24 hours to buy another 5. We will keep going for as long as necessary. I’m not quite sure where that 4 years has gone, but D&T’s is four years old today. A lot has happened: extreme weather, pandemic and now war but we have carried on trying to build the business and improving the service we provide to our lovely community. As you can see, our face has changed/evolved a bit! thanks to everyone who has supported us - we really do appreciate it. Hopefully we can continue evolving and growing over the next year or two. Teff is an ancient grain, used for over 2000 years in the part of Africa now known as Ethiopia. It’s tiny but versatile and naturally gluten free. The bread has a lovely texture and great crust and it can be frozen for 3 months. It’s also vegan. We also have the flour in stock. Very excited to welcome into stock @sourceclimatechangecoffee organic, single origin coffees. The first coffee with its own carbon credit number. They work directly with and support farmers and each bag funds reforestation projects. Source is the only conservation led coffee company which is founded to protect the world’s forests. Each bag has a QR code which allows customers to see the provenance stormy of the coffee, and links a payment for ecosystem services into the tree planting being conducted by the farmers.
